Rev. Dr. Hurley Williams Jr.

Hurley Bernard Williams, Jr., native of both Hope Mills and Parkton in NC was born on December 9, 1976 to Hurley & Carolyn Williams. He is married to his college sweetheart, the former Tonia Deree Dudley of La Grange, NC. They are the parents of four children: Deborah, Kyra, Roshell, and Hurley, III. He is the oldest of two children having one sister, Reverend Sharon Thomas, who resides in Louisville, KY with her family.
He was educated in the Cumberland County Schools (South View Senior High School in Hope Mills, NC). Following high school, he continued his education at North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in History/Secondary Education. He has studied at Catalpa Bible Way University, Fayetteville, NC, earning both a Master of Divinity and a Doctor of Theology, University of North Carolina at Pembroke earning a Master of Arts in Education in Professional School Counseling. Professionally, he is employed as a school (guidance) counselor with the Cumberland County Schools in Fayetteville, NC.
He accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Union Oak AME Zion Church in Hope Mills, NC. Though never joining, he also received a great deal of spiritual training at First Missionary Baptist Church in Parkton, NC. Understanding the call on his life, he preached his initial sermon on Sunday, April 14, 1996. He was licensed to preach by Mount Zion Baptist Church in Greensboro, NC and ordained into the Gospel Ministry by Pee Dee Missionary Baptist Educational Association in Hamlet, NC.
Rev. Williams previously served as pastor at Nashville Missionary Baptist Church, near Laurinburg, NC Saint Paul Full Gospel Baptist Church, Fayetteville, NC. Currently, He is the pastor at Center Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Red Springs, NC. In support of Associational mission efforts, he has served in the capacity of Benevolence Chairman, 1st, 2nd, & 3rd Vice Moderators, Christian Education Instructor, Ordination Academy Instructor, Ordination Council Member, President of the Union, and currently, as the Moderator of the Pee Dee Association.
Rev. Williams has served the community faithfully in many endeavors via organization projects by and with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., Pee Dee Association, General Baptist State Convention of North Carolina, Scotland County Ministerial Alliance, Scotland County Missionary Union, Scotland County Chapter of the NAACP, Scotland County Civic League, Hoke County Civic League, and Hoke County Missionary Union.
